Genome analysis of white Guinea yam

A 594-Mb genome of white Guinea yam assembled

A group of scientists from the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture and the Iwate Biotechnology Research Center performed genome analysis of white Guinea yam (Dioscorea rotundata) and assembled a 594-Mb genome. The results of their work was published recently in BMC Biology.
